Bilocation 2013HD Video installation, corrugated steel, reclaimed wood, oil, pigment
Commissioned by Meadow Arts for Kedleston Hall, the former home of Lord George Curzon, Bilocation is a video installation that navigates some of the complex histories of its site.
The video was shot both at Kedleston Hall, and in Coronation Park, New Delhi, India, where Curzon held the infamous 1903 Delhi Durbar during his time as Viceroy of India under the British Raj. The Durbar was a huge pageant thrown to celebrate the succession of the Emperor and Empress of India. Early movie footage of the event was shown throughout India in makeshift cinemas and is credited with having launched the country's film industry.
